Matthew McNair Secondary is a public high school in Richmond, British Columbia part of School District 38 Richmond.
Matthew McNair is located at the 9500 block of No. 4 Road at Williams.It is one of the semester styled schools in Richmond,BC,Canada. Its feeder schools include Hamilton Elementary, Walter Lee Elementary, Kingswood Elementary, Thomas Kidd Elementary and Woodward Elementary. It is part of School District 38. McNair has been recognized for its outstanding music and theater departments. The school also is one of the few schools in the district to host a variety of specialized courses such as: a cooking program and full cafeteria, a basic auto-mechanics program, integrated academics and an accelerated academics and leadership program called the “Mini-School”.
The school motto is “McNair, A Caring Community.” The school mascot is the Marlin.
Athletics
McNair specializes in popular athletics such as Rugby, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball and Field Hockey. All of Matthew Mcnair’s basketball teams have been very successful in their playoffs and V&D’s of 2007-08’s.
